I am receiving an error connecting failed when I try to use debit killer software.

The debtkiller software that is avail on the web is not part of our company. When we took over the website, http://www.debtkiller.com, we did not include the debtkiller software posted on download.com.

I was told that you can not get bankruptcy off your credit report. Only the other items that may be on my credit report. Is that true?

Negatives = Negatives. A negative item on your credit report is a negative item on your credit report. Bankruptcy is a negative. There is no difference or difficulty in removing a bankruptcy vs any other negative item found on your credit reports.

Which is better, Do credit repair myself or hire a company to do it for me?

My personsonel thoughts are that it is always better to 'to it yourself', if for no other reason other than you get to see more clearly the problem you got yourself into and hopefully you will learn and not get back into the problem again.
With that said, a good credit repair company is also a great choice. Just make sure the price is right.
