Accepting Jesus Christ

I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. Romans 1:16-17 NIV

Jesus is Lord, He can carry you through these hard times of debt and credit problems. Just ask Jesus!

The LORD is my light and my salvation--
whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the stronghold of my life--
of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When evil men advance against me
to devour my flesh, when my enemies and my foes attack me,
they will stumble and fall.
3 Though an army besiege me,
my heart will not fear;
though war break out against me,
even then will I be confident.
Ps 27:1-3(from New International Version)

God created people in His own image and desires an intimate relationship with each of us. God wants us to enjoy an abundant life.

The Bible tells us..."We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ" (Romans 5:1).

"God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life"
(John 3:16)

"[Jesus] came that they might have life and might have it abundantly" (John 10:10).

Unfortunately each of us is separated from God!

The reason most people are not experiencing this abundant life is because we are separated from God. Each of us has done something wrong in our lives -- this is called sin -- which has separated us from God.

The Bible says..."For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).

"Your sins have cut you off from God"
(Isaiah 59:2, LB).

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23).

This relationship is a gift from God!

An enormous gap separates us from God. Individuals try without success to bridge this gap through their own morality or good works. God offers you a relationship with Himself, not because we earn it or deserve it, but as a free gift, that is, by grace.x

"For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourself, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9).

God's only provision to bridge this gap is Jesus Christ!

Jesus Christ is the only solution to this separation. He died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sin and to bridge the gap between us and God.

Jesus said, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me" (John 14:6).

"For Christ also has suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God" (1 Peter 3:18a).x

"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8).

We must each receive Jesus Christ.

To enter into a relationship with God and experience the abundant life, you need only to ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart and become your Savior and Lord.

The Bible says ..."Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me" (Revelation 3:20).

"If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved"
(Romans 10:9).

"But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name" (John 1:12).

If you desire to know the Lord or you are not certain whether you have this relationship, we encourage you to settle this issue by praying this simple prayer.

Dear Father God, I know that I am separated from You because of my sin, and I need you to forgive me. Thank You for sending your only Son, Jesus Christ, to die for my sins. I want to turn from my sins. I invite Jesus Christ to come into my heart and life as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for the gift of salvation and eternal life. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ the Lord. Amen.
